We decided to take the plunge & hit the road with our truck, trailer & eBikes. The decision wasn’t taken lightly…Matt had to quit his job, we had to remodel the trailer to give Roz office space & we had to figure out what to do with our house. It’s been a great time so far & we are hoping that we still feel this way in a year or more.

Matt retired at 50. He works hard wherever we park to make sure the truck, trailer & bikes are well maintained. He takes care of the cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc…essentially he makes sure Roz is taken care of. He appreciates that Roz is still working making the money to allow us to do this.

Roz is still working (remotely) for Crum & Forster (7 years now), but wishes she was retired sometimes! She thinks Matt works harder than her most days, so maybe retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be!

We explore in the evenings & on the weekends. We ride our Rad Power Bikes pretty much everywhere…walking/hiking locations, shopping, meals out, etc. We are able to go further, faster than a regular bike. With the cost of fuel, they have been a great exploring tool.

Since we came from a tiny house, our transition to a travel trailer wasn’t as great as if we were coming from a typical house, but it’s still been an adjustment. We still had to get rid of a lot of stuff. Even with the tiny house, it’s amazing the amount of stuff we had accumulated over the years.

We rented out our tiny house, leaving it in the capable hands of Adventure Property Management (Nampa, ID)  & put everything we didn’t bring with us in our garage…we didn’t want to pay for a storage unit, but we also didn’t want to move stuff to storage & back when we eventually end our time on the road.

At this time (subject to change), the plan is that Matt will go back to Kuna at least once a year to check on the property & perform routine maintenance. Possibly we’ll both go back as we’ll need a physician check-in at least once a year for labs, Rx, etc. We still haven’t figured out medical on the road, but we will eventually.
